Move In Matters

Removals Oxford

Looking for removals in Oxford? Move In Matters is a family run removals and storage company, rated 4.9 on Google from 108 reviews, and we handle Oxford moves from our depot at Units 2 and 4, 6 Wedgwood Road, Bicester, about 30 minutes up the A34.

Oxford homes bring their own challenges. The Victorian terraces in Jericho and Cowley have narrow frontages and very little room outside the door, while many flats in Summertown and Headington mean stairs, shared entrances and sometimes a lift to book. Much of the city sits inside controlled parking zones, so a removal vehicle may need a dispensation from Oxfordshire County Council to park outside your home. We plan the route around the ring road and check parking at both addresses at the quote stage, so moving day runs to plan.

If you are moving closer to our depot, see our page on removals Bicester.

House and Flat Removals in Oxford

Oxford brings practical challenges a generic quote rarely accounts for: permit-controlled parking on central streets, narrow access in older terraces, and multi-floor flats without lifts. We confirm parking, access routes and floor plans at the quote stage, and for larger homes we can arrange a survey, so the plan is set before moving day rather than discovered on arrival.

We cover the full range of Oxford property types: city-centre flats, Victorian terraces, larger family homes on the outskirts, and properties along the Oxfordshire commuter belt. Each move comes with a written, itemised quote covering labour, vehicle, fuel and any materials required.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So glad we chose Move In Matters for our move. They were everything we could have hoped for and more, nothing was too much trouble. They were very patient with the late entry to our home. Gabriel and the team were faultless from start to finish. Although not as cheap as some on paper, by the time you take into account everything that they do include (competitors usually don’t include essentials to make them look cheaper), they definitely worked out the cheapest and as it turned out, the best!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We would highly recommend Move in Matters. Since meeting Paul and receiving our quote, we were filled with confidence that this was the professional company to choose, and happy we did! Nothing was too much trouble, Virpi was always so helpful answering all our questions and keeping us reassured that the process will be smooth, and on the day of moving Gabriel, Eaun, Charlie and the rest of the team were amazing. The whole house, garden & garage packed between 08:00 and midday. Literally not a simple mark on anything and the unloading was just as efficient!
Thank you very much to all the Move in Matters team for making our moving day a success. We were concerned when shopping around for a great price and flexiblity of the company, but it was all included, boxes, bubble wrap, tape and a can do attitude whilst working around our children. 100% hire this company.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a difficult exchange and completion in a day which ran late and the team waited and unpacked swiftly and brilliantly. The company was great from the start, insisting that they would take the stress away from the moving day....and they did. They were flexible, reassuring and the team who arrived to pack our house into two vans did so with impressive expertise, like a giant game of Tetris! (Nothing broke and we had a lot of fragile items.) The removal team were pleasant, efficient and had the entire house, outbuilding and 60 garden pots packed in a few hours. This company is great and is highly recommended.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Do you offer removals in Oxford?

Yes. We cover house removals, flat removals, office relocations, packing and storage across Oxford and the wider Oxfordshire area. Send your moving date, addresses and a rough inventory and we will provide a free, itemised quote.

How far in advance should I book an Oxford removal?

Four to six weeks gives us time to price and schedule most moves. End-of-month and school-holiday periods book up faster. If your timeline is tighter, contact us and we will confirm availability.

Do you handle parking and access in Oxford?

Yes. When we quote, we look at access at both addresses, including stairs, lifts, narrow frontages and how close the van can get to the door, and plan the crew and vehicle around it. If your street needs a parking dispensation, we will tell you what is needed and how much notice to allow.

Do you offer packing as well as removals?

Yes. Full or partial packing is available with all materials supplied, packed to a labelled, room-by-room plan. Let us know at the quote stage if you want it included.

What storage options do you have for Oxford moves?

Containerised storage at our Bicester depot in 50, 100 and 150 to 200 sq ft units, accessed by appointment. Re-delivery to your Oxford address is arranged with the team when you are ready.

How is your pricing structured?

Every quote is free and itemised. We do not publish fixed prices because each job varies by volume, distance, access and whether packing or storage is included. See what is included in a house removal quote for how it is worked out.

Do you move students and people living in Oxford flats?

Yes. Flat and student moves are often smaller but come with their own planning, such as stairs, shared hallways, building rules on moving times and end-of-term dates when lots of people move at once. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift and any building restrictions, and we will size the crew and van to suit. If you are between tenancies, your belongings can go into containerised storage at our Bicester depot until the new place is ready.

Will I need a parking dispensation for my Oxford move?

Often, if you live in a controlled parking zone. A dispensation allows a vehicle to park in a permit or restricted bay while it loads, so the van can stop close to your door rather than hunting for a legal space. We will tell you what is needed for your street and how much notice to allow, so it is in place before moving day.

Our attitude to moving is that nothing is too much bother. We pay the same amount of attention to a single bedroom flat, right up to an international company.

While many companies simply offered to move you from A to B; we actually have a range of storage options too.
